Is my canal project. I am the one person on the planet who has been tasked with the responsibility for raising all the required funds for this project, the total budget is a substantial amount of capital. To date I have secured about 13 billion with another 3 billion in the process of getting lined up. What is the purpose of this massive project you maybe wondering. Well, in simple terms there are many aspects of this project and many goals which it shall serve to satisfy. The first one being the diversion of all maritime traffic from the S China Sea through this canal. The total length of the canal is over 30 kms long with a width of about 1km and a depth of 30 m. Why would any maritime traffic be interested in using this particular method of travel when there is a sea right nearby. Well whenever a ship needs to go through the S China Sea they must pay a war tax, which comes out to about 1% of their vessel, Which typically works out to about 25-35k per ship.
By using the canal, our rate works out to be about the same as the war tax, however there's also, due to its strategic location a massive savings of travel time. Estimates are from 11 hours to 13 hours of travel time savings. This is per vessel per trans pacific voyage. The savings for one vessel alone are staggering. When this is multiplied by hundreds of ships the savings easily skyrockets up into the hundreds of million of dollars.
Also, my new appointment of Executive Director for International Trade Security means that a huge part of my responsibility is to ensure that all aspects of security especially with regards to potential funders and also with regards to strategic alliances are in line with the countries best interest.
